The DL4 is a subminiature omnidirectional lavalier microphone from Shure's DuraPlex range. Its 5 mm capsule is intended for discreet placement and improved gain-before-feedback, with a neutral, full sound aimed at broadcast audio, film sound, speech, theater and performance.
It carries an IP57 rating: dust ingress is not fully prevented but not enough to affect operation, and it withstands immersion in water up to one meter for 30 minutes. The 1.6 mm Shure Plex cable has a dual redundant ground that also acts as a secondary shield. The cable resists kinks and memory effect, and it can be painted with typical theater paints, pens and polishes.
A Presence Cap is supplied, adding about 3-4 dB near 10 kHz for extra vocal clarity. The microphone comes in four colors (Black, Cocoa, Tan, White) and two connector families: TA4F (mTQG) and LEMO. The listed connector options are 1-pin LEMO, 6-pin LEMO, MTQG and LEMO3.
