The VT-12 is a pocket-sized practice tool that tracks the pitch of a singer in real time and shows it on an illuminated meter in half-step increments. Three detection modes cover one voice in equal temperament, two voices in equal temperament, and two voices in just intonation, so pairs or choir members can check harmonies. A guide tone can be played over a 24-semitone range for reference.
Onboard content includes warm-ups, practice songs with guide vocals and backing tracks, and exercises tied to the bundled Berklee Press book Vocal Workouts for the Contemporary Singer. The 50 Concone Op. 9 etudes are included with piano accompaniment and an optional guide melody, along with selections from the G. Schirmer Italian Songs and Arias collection. A metronome with tap tempo runs alongside the tuner, and a Review function replays the last performance, which is overwritten by the next one.
A stereo mini REC IN jack lets an MP3 or CD player feed content into ten user tracks of up to 10 minutes each. A stereo mini output/headphone jack, a built-in mono speaker and a tilt stand are fitted. Power comes from two AA batteries.
