The AC-40 is a two-channel stereo amplifier built around two 6.5-inch speakers and a combined output of 35 W (17.5 W + 17.5 W). One channel takes a guitar through a 1/4-inch input; the other accepts a microphone or line-level source through a combo XLR/TRS jack. Each channel has its own volume, three-band EQ (bass, middle, treble), a three-position chorus switch (Off, Space, Wide) and a reverb knob.
An anti-feedback switch suppresses acoustic feedback automatically, which helps when playing at higher volume or in tight spaces. A tilt-back stand built into the cabinet angles the amp upward on the floor or another flat surface, and the unit weighs 5.3 kg, so it can also serve as a personal monitor on larger stages.
The rear panel has a stereo AUX IN with a level control for backing tracks, mono/stereo LINE OUT jacks for a PA system or recorder, and a stereo PHONES jack that mutes the internal speakers. A foot switch jack allows the chorus and reverb to be switched on and off with an optional footswitch. Power comes from an external AC adaptor.
