The F500C is a dedicated centre channel speaker intended to sit alongside the F500 series in a home theatre setup. Its main driver is a 125mm (5") IsoFlare multi-fibre bass/mid unit with a 19mm titanium dome compression tweeter, aimed at keeping dialogue and on-screen action precisely placed at the centre. Two further 125mm multi-fibre bass drivers add low-frequency extension and impact.
The design is a 2½-way, rear-ported system with crossover points at 350Hz and 2.1kHz, using a 2nd order low pass and 1st order high pass. Sensitivity is 91dB (2.83V @ 1m) at 8 ohms nominal impedance, with a quoted in-room response of 48Hz to 38kHz (-6dB). Recommended amplifier power is 30 to 120 watts RMS, and continuous power handling is 60 watts RMS.
The cabinet has gently curved front and rear baffles, which the maker says reduce colouration. Finishes are dark oak or black oak real wood veneer, or piano gloss black or white. It measures 160 x 500 x 249mm and weighs 8.1kg. Connection is via the speaker terminals on the rear of the cabinet to an amplifier or AV receiver.
