The Deluxe Big Muff Pi is a mono analog fuzz pedal that reproduces the sounds of the original NYC Big Muff Pi and adds extra shaping tools. The standard Volume, Tone and Sustain controls are joined by an Attack knob, which blends in an enhanced version of the dry signal to keep pick definition, and a Gate knob that removes hiss and hum while leaving the attack and tone intact.
A separately footswitched Mids section can boost or cut by up to +/-10 dB. Its center frequency is set from 310 Hz to 5.0 kHz, a Q switch chooses a high or low bandwidth, and a Level knob sets the amount of boost or cut. A Bass Boost/Normal switch adds low-end weight through the fuzz circuit; in Normal the circuit matches the NYC Big Muff.
The pedal has a single input and output, plus an expression input for a TRS-equipped pedal that sweeps the mids frequency in real time. It uses true bypass and runs on an included 9V battery, or on an optional 9.6VDC-200mA adapter that is sold separately.
