Vela FS 407.2

The VFS407.2 is a floorstanding loudspeaker with a trapezoidal, softly curved cabinet intended to reduce resonance and diffraction. It uses a 2½-way bass-reflex layout with the port firing downward. Two 150 mm woofers with faceted aluminum-sandwich AS-XR cones handle bass and midrange, and a handcrafted JET 6 tweeter, made in Kiel, Germany, covers the highs.

The crossover points are 450 Hz and 2400 Hz. Frequency range is stated as 30 to 50,000 Hz, with a sensitivity of 88 dB at 2.83 V/m. The nominal impedance is 4 Ω with a minimum of 3.2 Ω at 200 Hz, so amplifiers rated for 4 to 8 Ω are suitable, with 40 to 300 W per channel recommended.

The cabinet is offered in Gloss Black, Gloss White and Gloss Walnut finishes. A plate with spikes and washers is supplied for floor mounting, and speaker grilles are available as an optional accessory. Connection is through the speaker terminals from a separate amplifier.
