The WL185M is a professional lavalier condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern. It belongs to a three-model family alongside the supercardioid WL184M and the omnidirectional WL183M. Compared with the original WL18X series, the capsule housing is 8 mm shorter, and the maker lists a higher dynamic range along with improved maximum SPL, self-noise and overall sound quality.
The model listed here is the black version with a TQG connector (TA4F, 4-pin mini), which is intended for compatible wireless transmitters. A LEMO connector option and a white colour option exist across the range.
A single tie clip, a snap-fit foam windscreen and a zippered storage bag come with the microphone. Optional accessories include single-mount and dual-mount tie clips and a replacement snap-fit windscreen.
