The FP-7F is a compact digital piano built around a SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine, which models velocity response, note decay and key-range behaviour instead of relying on stepped samples. The 88-key PHA III Ivory Feel-S keyboard has escapement and a one-piece key material with an ivory-style surface. Hammer response and touch sensitivity can be adjusted.
An onboard looper records overdubbed layers from the piano's own sounds and the mic input, and includes rhythm patterns with matching intros and endings. Loops can be saved as WAV files to USB flash memory and played back with Audio Key. The mic input feeds a harmony engine with Duet, Trio and Quartet modes that follows the chords played on the keyboard or in Session Partner patterns.
The piano has two 12 W speakers, two headphone jacks, line inputs and outputs, MIDI in and out, and USB for MIDI and external memory. It comes in black or white, with an optional RPU-3 triple-pedal unit and KSC-44 stand.
