The StageBug SB-48 is a small two-channel phantom power supply. Each channel has an XLR input for a microphone or active direct box and an XLR output that carries the balanced signal on to a mixing console, preamp, recording interface or PA system.
It generates its supply with a non-radiating charge pump circuit, producing a stable, ripple-free 48 volts for condenser microphones and active DI boxes. A 12V option is listed for specialty microphones. Because the unit supplies its own phantom voltage, powered mics and active DIs can be used at venues or on gear that lack dependable phantom power.
The unit runs from an external 15VDC, 400 mA power supply that is included. It measures 3.92 x 3 x 1.7 inches, so it is easy to place near the stage or in a rack of accessories. A user guide and photos are available from the maker.
