PMC6 XBD
The PMC 6 XBD is a twin-cabinet active studio monitor system made of a PMC6 two-way nearfield monitor and a PMC8 SUB subwoofer, both using ATL bass loading. It suits professionals who want midfield-level reference monitoring and bass extension down to 25Hz in a compact installation.

The XBD configuration pairs the PMC6 active monitor with the PMC8 SUB active subwoofer. Together they extend the low-frequency response from 39Hz to 25Hz and turn the PMC6 into a three-way design. With the subwoofer handling the lowest bass, the mid-bass driver is relieved of that load, which lowers distortion, adds headroom and improves mid-range clarity for vocals.
The PMC6 has a 150mm (6") LF driver and a 27mm (1") soft dome HF driver, driven by Class-D amplifiers (200W for HF, 200W for LF, 300W for the sub in XBD use). Its XLR input switches between analogue and AES3 digital (16/24-bit, 18-192kHz). DSP functions include crossover, driver protection, 5-band parametric EQ, shelving filters, a high-pass filter, delay and polarity. Three user presets are available in addition to the factory defaults.
To set up the system, connect the input to the PMC6 and run an AES3 cable from its digital through output to the PMC8 SUB. The cabinets connect to a LAN or directly to each other through their RJ45 network ports. Selecting XBD mode makes the DSP treat them as one monitor. They can then be configured from the rear panel or in a browser with SoundAlign, where the pair appears as a single PMC6 XBD unit.
