DB1S+

The DB1S+ is a passive two-way loudspeaker with a small, heavily damped cabinet. Its bass is loaded by an advanced transmission line (ATL) with an effective length of 1.5 m, which lets the compact enclosure reproduce more low-frequency depth than its size suggests. A 140 mm doped low-frequency driver on a cast alloy chassis is paired with a 27 mm silk soft-dome tweeter that is ferrofluid cooled.

This revision uses the same soft-dome high-frequency unit as PMC's larger two- and three-way designs, so tonal balance and wide dispersion match those models. That makes it suitable for all channels of a surround system, alone or alongside other PMC monitors and the TLE1S active subwoofer. An active, digitally driven version exists as the DB1S-A II.

The speaker is driven by an external amplifier rated at 40-150 W. Connection is through two pairs of 4 mm sockets, which allow bi-wire or bi-amp operation. A 20-year warranty is available when the product is registered within 10 days of purchase, subject to terms.
