The C 427 is a stereo AM/FM tuner built as a source component for a hi-fi system. It uses a MOS-FET RF front end and offers Auto Search tuning, which stops on the strongest available signal. FM Mute keeps tuning quiet between stations, and a Blend function eases noise on weaker stereo broadcasts.
Any mix of AM and FM stations can be stored in 40 random presets, and the memory is kept when the unit is unplugged. RDS support shows the station name (PS) and radio text (RT) on a four-line VFL graphic display. Tuning is done with a rotary encoder, and a full-function NAD remote control is included in the feature list.
For system integration the tuner has an RS-232 interface and a rear-panel IR input for external control. Standby power consumption is below 0.5 W. The chassis measures 435 x 99 x 315 mm and weighs 4.6 kg.
