Cobalt8M is an 8-voice virtual-analogue synthesiser module in a tabletop enclosure with included 19-inch rack brackets. It suits musicians, producers and sound designers who want an extended VA oscillator engine, many filter types, a sequencer and an arpeggiator in one compact unit.

Cobalt8M is an eight-voice polyphonic synth built on extended virtual-analogue synthesis. It has two independent oscillator groups with up to four oscillators each, 64 oscillators in total, and 40 oscillator algorithms such as hard sync, ring modulation, fractal, metal, PWM and bit crushing. Firmware V2 adds FM and noise-AM algorithms. A bank of 31 resonant filter types covers morphable and static state-variable and ladder designs, several with drive.
Modulation comes from three envelopes (amp, mod, filter), three audio-rate tempo-syncable LFOs and a modulation matrix with eight assignable slots plus four fixed routings. A 512-note real-time sequencer, a 64-step polyphonic step sequencer with four animation lanes and a 32-step arpeggiator handle pattern work. Three stereo FX engines offer 26 effect algorithms. The synth stores 500 patches, 300 of them factory programs, along with 100 sequence presets and 100 FX presets, and supports MPE controllers.
It connects through dual-mono line outputs, a headphone output, a stereo audio input, MIDI DIN in and out, analogue clock sync in and out, class-compliant USB MIDI, and expression and sustain pedal inputs. The free MODALapp editor runs standalone and as a VST3/AU plug-in. Two units can be poly-chained for 16 voices.
