Middleton II is a portable stereo speaker built around two 3-inch woofers, two 0.6-inch tweeters and two passive radiators in a sealed cabinet. Four class D amplifiers drive the speaker: two 30 W units for the woofers and two 10 W units for the tweeters. Its True Stereophonic processing is designed to spread sound in all directions, so the soundstage holds up wherever the listener stands.
The housing is rated IP67 against dust and immersion, and the battery is rechargeable and user-replaceable. Playtime is over 30 hours, and a 20-minute charge gives about 5 hours. The speaker can also work as a power bank to charge a phone. A built-in microphone handles hands-free calls, and a multidirectional knob on the top panel controls playback, volume and calls, with separate bass and treble controls.
It connects over Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint support, or through a 3.5 mm AUX input. Charging is via USB-C. The Marshall Bluetooth app is available for adjustments but is not required. It comes in Black and Brass or Cream, with a strap and USB-C cable in the box.
