The GSA60 is a solid-body electric guitar with a 3D-shaped Okoume body, a bolt-on style GSA maple neck and a Jatoba fretboard with white dot inlays and 22 medium frets. The scale length is 648 mm (25.5") and the fretboard radius is 305 mm. The Brown Sunburst version is one of three finishes, alongside Walnut Flat and Black Night.

Pickups are Ibanez Infinity passive ceramic units: two single-coil Infinity RS pickups in the neck and middle positions and an Infinity R humbucker at the bridge. A five-way selector switch gives neck, neck plus middle, middle, middle plus the neck side of the bridge pickup, and bridge. Controls are one volume knob and one tone knob. The T102 tremolo bridge has 10.5 mm string spacing, and hardware is chrome.

The guitar uses a mono-unit output jack, made as a single piece to resist loosening. It ships tuned E-A-D-G-B-E with .009-.042 strings. Ibanez lists the M300C case and IGB540-BK gig bag as recommended accessories.
