Apraksts
The 8351B is a compact three-way powered monitor. A coaxial driver handles midrange and treble, while two obround woofers radiate through slots at the ends of the cabinet. Each driver has its own Class D amplifier (250 W bass, 150 W midrange, 150 W treble), with crossover points at 320 Hz and 2800 Hz. The enclosure is die-cast aluminium with a reflex port and comes with an Iso-Pod base that allows a tilt of ±15°.
The monitor belongs to Genelec's Smart Active Monitoring range. Room compensation, level and distance delay are set through the free GLM software, which runs the AutoCal 2 calibration routine. Calibration needs either a 9320A SAM Reference Controller or a GLM Calibration Kit, both sold separately. Settings can be stored in the monitor itself, so it keeps them if the GLM network is disconnected. An Intelligent Signal Sensing circuit puts the speaker into a low-power standby when no signal is present, and it can be switched off on the back panel.
Signal connections are an XLR analogue input, an XLR AES/EBU input and an XLR AES/EBU output for passing the signal on. Two RJ45 sockets carry the GLM control network. The monitor is offered in dark grey, black and white.
