The Scarlett 6i6 is a USB audio interface offering four analogue inputs: two Scarlett mic preamps and two balanced line inputs, along with two instrument inputs for high-output pickups. Conversion runs at up to 24-bit/192 kHz, and the unit provides four balanced analogue outputs for studio monitors.
Two separate headphone outputs allow different monitor mixes for two people, such as two artists or an engineer and an artist. Routing and monitor mixes are set up from the Focusrite Control software, which runs on Mac, PC, iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
It connects to the computer by USB and ships with a USB cable plus a software bundle that includes Ableton Live Lite, Pro Tools First Focusrite Creative Pack, the Red plug-in suite, Softube plug-ins, XLN Audio Addictive Keys and Loopmasters sample libraries. Focusrite covers the hardware with a two-year warranty against manufacturing faults.
