The Hammertone Fuzz is a single-effect fuzz pedal built around a Fender-designed circuit with two silicon diodes. It is voiced after fuzz units of the 1960s, with a stated aim of lower noise and more output level than many vintage designs. Three external controls are fitted, with custom-colour "F" logo knobs.

An Octave switch adds a second octave-up fuzz stage with extra volume and treble and a more textured decay. A trim-pot inside the enclosure rolls off very high frequencies, which can help tame single-coil pickups or bright amplifiers. The housing is aluminium, and switching is true bypass.

Input and output jacks are on the top edge, which saves board space and gives more routing options when pedals are packed closely. Power comes from a 9-volt battery or a centre-negative AC adaptor; the adaptor is not included. The finish is gray with fuchsia accents.
