Lizard King

The Lizard King is a fixed-gain analog fuzz with an added octave voice. Its response follows the level of the instrument: a lower input volume gives a lighter, clearer overdrive, while a full-volume signal drives the circuit much harder. It adapts the fuzz and octave circuit of the Lizard Queen for bass, with revised tone controls.

Volume sets output level and Octave sets how much of the octave tone is mixed in. Blend crosses from fully clean to fully fuzz, so the attack and low end of a bass can be kept while the fuzz is dialed in. Tone is a low-pass filter that rolls off the highs. A Sun/Shadow switch changes the voicing: Sun pushes the fuzz with more midrange and gives the clean signal more treble and bass, while Shadow leaves the clean tone unchanged and tightens the fuzz.

The pedal has a mono input and amp output, a true-bypass footswitch with a status LED, and runs from an included 9V battery or an optional 9V DC center-negative supply at the power jack.
