The Alva ST Maharishi is a belt-drive turntable with a die-cast aluminium platter and a static balanced tonearm with a detachable headshell. It plays at 33.3 and 45 rpm. A moving magnet cartridge with an elliptical stylus is already fitted to the headshell, so the deck is ready to set up out of the box. This is the first capsule edition of the collaboration, a UK exclusive limited to 35 units, and it is listed as archived.
A built-in phono stage lets the turntable connect to amplifiers and powered speakers that have no phono input. The RCA output can be switched between phono and line level, which allows it to feed either a phono input or a line input. The tonearm accepts cartridges weighing 4.5 to 12 g, so the cartridge can be changed later.
For wireless listening, the turntable transmits over Bluetooth with SBC, aptX and aptX HD codecs. It runs from a 12 V DC power adaptor with switchable plugs, and the package includes a dust cover, RCA cable, ground lead and a stylus gauge.
