The DT 100 is a closed, circumaural headphone aimed at monitoring in studios and in ENG/EFP (electronic news and field production) applications. Its closed housing gives strong isolation from surrounding noise, which makes it usable at high sound pressure levels. The ear pads are soft and enclose the ear.
The design is built around serviceability: every part can be replaced without difficulty, so the headphone can be kept in use over a long period. It is made in Germany.
The headphone is wired and has no remote. A straight cable with a 3.5 mm mini-jack plug attaches on one side only and is detachable. A 6.35 mm (¼ inch) adapter is supplied for standard headphone outputs. The nominal impedance is 16 ohms with a frequency response of 30 to 20,000 Hz. The page also lists a 400 ohm nominal impedance option.
